  Lots of vegan choices here!! They had a cold case with noodle bowls, sushi and even some raw stuff. They quickly prepare hot noodle or nice bowls with great flavor. A little pricey but you can tell they use top notch ingredients, and its inside a natural food store. I was able to get a vegan treat there for dessert. All the to go containers and plasticware was biodegradable and made out of bioplastics.
  I was happy to find this place as we drove around the whole lake.

  My family and I are mostly vegetarians. When we were in Tahoe this past spring we were looking for the best vegetarian options as we usually do on Google maps, and Yelp. We came across this listing in Tahoe City, and were hopeful. The place delivered on all counts, including meat options, and it did not lack on service either. Keep in mind that Uncommon Kitchen is more a deli than a restaurant.
  The "Kitchen" is located in New Moon Natural Foods, and has options ranging from sweet and sour noodle soups with your choice of tofu, or meat, to their "Leaf Eater" hummus, cucumber, tomato and greens on a freshly baked (on site no less!) sourdough bagette sandwich. I wish I could make sourdough loaf that good myself.
  A look on their website gives a more complete view of the full menu, however they are located in the New Moon store which is loaded with organic product (packaged and fresh) that you could compliment any meal with including Kombucha, juice drinks, organic chips, crackers, fruit etc.
  The next time we visit the area we will probably eat their primarily as it was, hands down, the best food we had eaten (meat eaters included) all week, and in a while at any restaurant for that low of a price.

  Doug and Dawn are artists of their craft. I eat there 2 or 3 times a week and always find something new and amazing. I recommend the fish tacos, or any of the sushi rolls, Shitake noodle bowl(gluten free) is super good as well...should I continue? Love them!
